Situated in the heart of the Pauillac appellation, Château Pichon Baron was recognized as a Second Growth (2nd Grand Cru Classé) in the historic 1855 Classification. Neighboring Château Latour, the estate is iconic for its majestic fairy-tale chateau and exceptional deep-gravel terroir.
Under the management of AXA Millésimes, the estate adheres to a strict plot-by-plot selection process, reserving only the oldest and finest vines for its Grand Vin. Tasting Notes
Vintage Highlight: The 2021 vintage features a remarkably high proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon (89%), producing an extraordinarily pure, precise, and classical expression of Pauillac.
Appearance: Deep ruby with vibrant purple hues around the rim.
Nose: Highly aromatic, presenting intense layers of ripe blackcurrant, wild blackberry, and fresh violet, framed by nuances of cigar box, pencil shavings, cedar, and dark cocoa.
Palate: Medium to full-bodied with incredible focus and tension. Energetic acidity effortlessly balances the fine, chalky tannins, revealing flavors of concentrated black fruits and crushed rocks.
Finish: Long, elegant, and persistent, closing with a distinct graphite and mineral note.
