Giant Steps Sexton Chardonnay 2018 750ml

Phil Sexton named his Yarra Valley winery after the John Coltrane album of that name. It also recognizes the giant step he made when he sold his winery in Margaret River to move to Victoria. The winemaking philosophy is to focus exclusively on the distinctive expression of single vineyard sites in the Yarra Valley, with the emphasis on Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The winery is designed to work on gravity flow and minimal intervention. Visitors to the cellar door can also enjoy the wines at their acclaimed bistro.

Perhaps the most classic Chardonnay of the bunch, the 2018 Sexton Vineyard Chardonnay boasts attractive notes of toasted nuts alongside hints of white peaches and grilled pineapple. All Mendoza clone aged in 20% new oak, it's medium-bodied, defined by its concentrated pineapple flavors. Punchy and direct, it finishes long and citrusy. Wine Advocate 91
